Minor, stripped to five notes
E Minor Pentatonic is E G A B D. It is E natural minor with the two most dissonant notes (the 2nd and ♭6) removed — leaving only strong, safe tones.
- Five notes: 1 ♭3 4 5 ♭7.
- Removing the 2 and ♭6 removes the 'wrong-note' risk.
- In E it uses the open low and high strings — instant rock tone.

Why it always works
Every note fits over an Em or E blues groove — there are no avoid notes, so every phrase lands. Bend the ♭3 (G) and ♭7 (D) for blues expression.
