Privacy Policy – More Than Modes for YouTube

In short: the extension works on the YouTube video you are watching, on your own computer. It recognizes chords, writes or syncs lyrics and splits the song into instruments using the audio that YouTube's own player has already loaded for playback — that audio never leaves your computer. To split instruments you sign in with your email (Google or an email link). We keep your email and, only if you tick the box, use it to send you news. To fix bugs, the extension also reports its own errors and a daily usage count, both anonymous. No ads, no tracking, nothing is sold.
1. What the extension does on YouTube
- On youtube.com/watch pages it shows the chords on the player, the chord sheet beside the video and a practice studio under it, following the video's current time.
- To recognize chords, write or sync lyrics and split instruments, it reads a copy of the audio that YouTube's player has already loaded for playback and analyzes it locally, inside the extension. It does not download anything extra from YouTube and never uploads that audio.
- It does not let you download videos, audio or the separated instruments: they only play inside the extension.
- It does not change playback on its own. The video only moves when you use one of its controls (a chord or line of the sheet, its play button, an A–B loop you set). While the instrument mixer you opened is playing, the video is muted so you hear your mix; it is restored when you close the mixer, during ads and when you change video. When you change the key with “Key ±”, the video's own sound is passed through the extension's pitch shifter, on your computer, so it plays in the new key.
2. What is sent over the network

When something in the extension fails: the error message, the extension version, the Chrome version and operating system, and a random number created at install. Once a day: how many songs, new songs, splits and lyrics were used the day before, with that same random number. Never your email, the videos you watch or anything that identifies you. |

Like any website, these servers receive your IP address with each request. We don't use it to identify you.
3. What is stored on your computer
- Your settings and, per video, your key, capo, simple/numbers mode, loop, lyrics timing and section names.
- A copy of the chord charts of the last 200 videos you opened, and the lyrics written for you.
- The separated instruments of the last 10 songs you split (so reloading or coming back doesn't lose them), the splitting and lyrics models, and your signed-in email.
All of it stays in your browser and is deleted when you remove the extension.
4. Your email
- We use it only to give you access and, if you agreed, to send you news and offers from More Than Modes. Every message has a way to unsubscribe.
- We never sell or share it. To see or delete it, write to contact@morethanmodes.com.
5. What we do not do
- No browsing history: the extension only runs on YouTube video pages and on its sign-in page at morethanmodes.com.
- No advertising or third-party analytics or tracking code (the only reports are the anonymous error and daily usage counts above), and no data is sold or used for anything else.

7. Children
The extension is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their email.

En corto: la extensión trabaja con el video de YouTube que estás viendo, en tu propia computadora. Saca los acordes, escribe o sincroniza la letra y separa la canción en instrumentos con el audio que el reproductor de YouTube ya cargó para sonar; ese audio nunca sale de tu computadora. Para separar instrumentos entras con tu correo (Google o un enlace al correo). Guardamos tu correo y, sólo si marcas la casilla, lo usamos para mandarte novedades. Para arreglar fallas, la extensión también reporta sus propios errores y un conteo de uso diario, anónimos. Sin anuncios, sin rastreo, no vendemos nada.
- Analiza aquí una copia del audio que el reproductor ya cargó. No baja nada extra de YouTube, no sube el audio y no deja descargar videos, audio ni los instrumentos separados (sólo suenan dentro de la extensión).
- No cambia el video por su cuenta. Sólo lo mueve cuando usas sus mandos. Mientras suena la mezcla de instrumentos que abriste, el video va en silencio para que oigas tu mezcla; vuelve como estaba al cerrarla, en los anuncios y al cambiar de video. Cuando cambias el tono con «Tono ±», el sonido del video pasa por el transportador de la extensión, en tu computadora, y suena en el tono nuevo.
- Base de acordes de More Than Modes (Firebase «more-than-modes»): el ID del video y, la primera vez que alguien termina una canción nueva, su hoja de acordes. Las hojas se guardan por canción, nunca con nada tuyo.
- LRCLIB: título, artista y duración, para la letra. YouTube: los subtítulos del propio video, para usarlos como letra.
- morethanmodes.com y Hugging Face: se bajan el modelo para separar instrumentos y, si pides escribir la letra, uno de reconocimiento de voz. Nada tuyo.
- Entrar (Firebase Authentication y Firestore, proyecto «mtm-fd363»): tu correo (y el perfil básico de Google si entras con Google), si quieres novedades, la fecha y tu idioma. Sólo para darte acceso y, si aceptaste, mandarte novedades y ofertas. Nunca lo vendemos ni compartimos. Para verlo o borrarlo: contact@morethanmodes.com.
- En tu computadora: tus ajustes, una copia de las hojas de los últimos 200 videos, la letra escrita, los instrumentos separados de las últimas 10 canciones, los modelos y tu correo de entrada. Todo se borra al quitar la extensión.
- Errores y uso (Firebase «more-than-modes»): si algo falla, el mensaje del error, la versión de la extensión, la de Chrome y el sistema, y un número al azar creado al instalar; una vez al día, cuántas canciones, canciones nuevas, separaciones y letras se usaron el día anterior, con ese mismo número. Nunca tu correo, los videos que ves ni nada que te identifique. Máximo 20 reportes de error al día.
- Sin historial de navegación, sin publicidad ni analítica o rastreo de terceros.
